What I'm doing now

Here’s what’s taking up most of my time at the moment:

If you’d like to get in touch, here’s how.

What I’m doing now

(This is a now page, and if you have your own site, you should make one, too.)

“Your Music and People” private release

Not released to the public yet, but I’ve given my private email list a secret link to buy my new book, “Your Music and People”.

I’ll announce it to the public in another week or two, then put it into stores (Amazon, Audible, etc) a couple months after that.

Moved back to New Zealand

For probably-obvious reasons, I’ve just moved back to my favorite country. Planning to stay very long-term, and be local and social this time.

I’m in the government-managed quarantine hotel room for two weeks.

Finished podcast interviews

I did 56 interviews in the last few months — about four per week — and after my last one, last night, I’m done for a while. I’m saying no to all interviews, now.

It was time-consuming, taking 3-6 hours per day to prepare and record, but it was really stimulating. The interviewers’ questions led me to write for 2-4 hours per day, to find an interesting angle on those topics before we speak.

See them at and bookmark that page to see the new ones appear as I get them transcribed. It will take a couple more months for all of them to be released.

Or subscribe to my podcast to hear them automatically when posted. Use Apple, Spotify, Overcast, YouTube, Stitcher, iHeartRadio, or Google.

I think their questions and my answers will become my next-next book after “How to Live”.

Finishing “How to Live

Many hours a week, finishing the book I’ve been most excited about for the last two years.

It’s coming together really well. I think it’s by far the best thing I’ve ever done.

But more about that, later.

“Survival” Camping Trip

On the weekend of June 13th, I’m invited to join on a 2-day survival workshop in the woods. I’m accustomed to lifting weights, calisthenics, and running; but I’m not accustomed to marching. We’ll be walking quite a lot, so I’m hiking for about 90mins about once or twice per week. I strap on my old army boots, load 20kg in my backpack, and strap a bandana above nose and mouth to get used to loaded hiking with a face mask. Because that’s apparently going to be a thing in June.
